Nice tribute to Coach Tim Kendrick and UPEI Panthers

For the first time in the Tim Kendrick coaching era, UPEI Panthers have been ranked in the Top 10 in the CIS coaches poll – *article in Charlottetown newspaper.  (CANHoops.ca poll also has UPEI at #9).  Panthers are undefeated in AUS league play and of the four losses in the pre-season two came without star guard Tyler Scott in the lineup.  UPEI travels to Wolfville this weekend – home of Kendrick and several of his players  for a pair of games against Acadia.

The Panthers have received a nice contribution from their newest guard, 5’11” pg Zach Usherwood (Coquitlam, BC – transfer/Thompson Rivers; 5.3 ppg in 2013-14) who has logged meaningful minutes at the point, helping to reduce the load for 4th year guard Lorenzo Parker.  Usherwood started both games vs. Cape Breton and had 6 assists in his debut followed up by a 12 point effort in Saturday’s game.  The energetic point guard is providing another athletic element for Coach Kendrick, especially at the defensive end.
