Hanson looks to move up CW ladder

Coming into a rivalry weekend when second-place UBC visits Victoria for a pair of games, long-time Thunderbirds Head Coach Kevin Hanson looks to move up the Canada West career coaching wins ladder.  Now in his 15th season, Hanson has tied former Vikes Head Coach, the late Guy Vetrie, for second place on the list each with 245 regular season wins.  With a win this weekend -ironically both games are in Victoria – Hanson would take sole possession of 2nd on the list.  The legendary Alberta Golden Bears skipper Don Horwood is the career leader at 313 wins in 26 seasons.  Other active coaches on the Canada West list include:

Craig Beaucamp, Victoria:  186 wins in 13 seasons

Dan Vanhooren, Calgary: 184 wins in 16 seasons

Scott Clark, Simon Fraser/Thompson Rivers:  167 wins in 16 seasons

Barnaby Craddock, Brandon/Fraser Valley/Alberta:  138 wins in 11 seasons.
