Laval 87, Florida A&M 74 Veteran point guard Karl Demers-Belanger had 13 of his game-high 18 points in the first half and the Rouge et Or held off a late Rattlers comeback attempt that got what had been a 19 point lead back to within 6 to give Laval a victory over the NCAA Division 1 program. Belanger hit 3 of 6 3’s in the first half – part of a 6 for 13 shooting effort overall for Laval in the opening 20 minutes – to allow Rouge et Or to lead by 15 at the break. Laval finished the first half on a 25-12 run as coach Jacques Paiement Jr. went deep into his bench as 14 different Rouge et Or saw court time overall. Laval led by 19 at 52-33 midway through the third when the Rattlers peeled off a 22-10 run to get it to 7.
