Curcic’s 32 propels Sea-hawks to win at York

Memorial (1-2) 78, York (0-1) 74… 6’9″ Vasilije Curcic went 13 for 25 from the floor to lead all scorers with 32 points and added 11 rebounds as the Sea-hawks salvaged one game on their tour of Southern Ontario this weekend.  The slick post with a complete, inside-out offensive game made life miserable for Lions defenders inside as MUN shot 48.4% overall from the floor.  The game featured 11 lead changes and was tied on 8 separate occasions.  6’1″ Julio Vazquez, a third-year guard out of Toronto’s Upper Canada College, shot 7 for 13 from beyond the arc and finished with 25 points for the Lions, who started two new recruits:  6’1″ point guard Tobi Adelodin from Calgary, who had 3 points, and 6’10” U.K. import George Ivens who had 6.  York turned the ball over 23 times in the loss.  MUN coach Peter Benoite was especially pleased with the work at the defensive end of 6’4″ Deng Ring.
