Blues continue 3 point onslaught in easy win over Seneca

Toronto 75, Seneca 46… Continuing their sizzling-hot shooting from beyond the arc, Varsity Blues also turned up the defense in a decisive victory over Seneca Sting of CCAA/OCAA in a game played at at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre as a part of the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Homecoming.  6’3″ D2 transfer Reilly Reid led all scorers with 21 points including 2-5 from 3 as the Blues once again shot better than 50% (12 for 22) from downtown.  Recall Varsity went 55% (19 for 35) from beyond the stripe in their recent win at home over Memorial Sea-hawks.  6’7″ Daniel Johansson added 11 while 6’5″ Devin Johnson had a 10-point, 13-rebound double double.

Toronto coach John Campbell had high praise for Seneca’s Darrell Glenn despite the lopsided loss:  “He is doing a great job with this group.  They run very good stuff and we were fortunate to be able to defend very well tonight”.  Just as in Seneca’s recent come-from-behind win at York on the weekend, the Sting were led by freshman Liban Mohamad‘s 13 points, while O’Neil Halstead, a former York Lion, notched 10 points in the loss.
