Dal/ConU to meet today for Mickey Place tournament title

Concordia (4-1) 85, UPEI (0-2) 69… The Stingers pulled away for good with a 14-4 run early in the fourth, building leads as large as 18 in a win at UPEI.  6’2″ freshman Nicky Noble continues to shine as a perimeter threat for the previously-long distance shooting challenged Stingers, going 5 for 13 from 3 for a game-high 24 points including 8 in the third quarter when Stingers took their first double digit lead.  6’2″ Tyler Scott was held to just 5 for 19 shooting by Concordia as Panthers shot just 31% from the floor including 6-28 from 3.  6’6″ Milorad Sedlarevic led Pathers with 16 points (just 4-12) while veteran point Ricardo Monge made 3-4 from 3 for 14 points and the Stingers shot 10-29 (35%) from 3.  Concordia faces Dalhousie in the tournament championship game this morning.

Dalhousie 69, Maine Fort-Kent 59… Holding the NAIA visitors from Maine to just 21% shooting in the second-half, the Tigers advanced to the championship game utilizing their depth and 6’1″ sophomore Jordan Aquino-Serjue led the way with 19 points and 8 rebounds while freshman 6’6″ wing Alex Carson added 14.  Tigers Coach Rick Plato praised his bench although was not entirely satisfied with how his troops played.

Championship game scheduled for 11 AM Atlantic time (10 AM ET) this morning.
