Stingers ride Beaulieu to impressive home win

Concordia (2-1) 77, UQAM (2-1) 72… 6’4″ Ken Beaulieu had 7 of his game-high 21 points in the final 4 minutes, catalyzing a game-deciding 13-2 run that erased a 3 point Citadins lead as the Stingers knocked UQAM from the ranks of the undefeated with an afternoon win at the BeeHive.  Beaulieu had 15 points after halftime including a jumper with just over 2 minutes to play the gave Concordia the lead for good.  UQAM had come back from a 10 point third-quarter deficit, taking a 1 point lead early in the fourth on a three by 6’5″ Ibrahima Sylla, who finished with 9 points and had two of the three consecutive 3’s during a big run that helped Citadins recapture the lead.  Earlier, Stingers used a 19-2 run bridging halftime to overcome an early 7 point deficit but UQAM didn’t go away as 6’2″ Greishe Clerjuste had 20 points and 8 rebounds.  Stingers shot just 39% for the game and just 4 for 21 from downtown but grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and created 18 Citadin turnovers in the victory.
