Canada West: Morgan, UBC remain dominant

Wayne Thomas’s Canada West hoops site provides the most comprehensive look at Canada West however a few things to highlight last night include another dominant performance by 6’9″ Conor Morgan who had 35 points and 11 rebounds as the UBC remained undefeated, building leads as large as 26 points at home in a 96-89 win over Manitoba.  Bisons did get the game back to within 4 with just 5 minutes to play but UBC closed it out…  Alberta remained undefeated with an 82-79 home win over Thompson Rivers as unheralded 6’0″ sophomore Ivan Ikomey (Calgary Bishop McNally) had 14 of his game-high 26 points after halftime, shooting a sizzling 7 for 8 from three point land to key the victory.  Golden Bears took the lead for good early in the third quarter on a three by 6’4″ Geoff Pippus and held off some WolfPack runs to move to 5-0 on the season… Winnipeg Wesmen had an emphatic 73-58 win over Lethbridge, moving to 4-1 as the Pronghorns shot just 1-14 from three point land.
