Ravens, Gee-Gees hold court

Carleton (11-0, 5-0) 81, McMaster (11-4, 3-4) 67… Ravens jumped out to a 25 point lead midway through the third quarter, getting 26 points from 6’4″ Connor Wood and coasted to a relatively easy win over the Marauders.  Carleton held McMaster to just 11 field goals in the first 25 minutes of play to lead 53-28 midway through the third quarter.  Ravens took advantage of 18 offensive rebounds and 21 Mac turnovers in building the dominant lead before Marauders finished the game shooting 13 for 23 including 6-12 in the final 15 minutes, getting it to as close as 7 with 45 seconds left before Carleton pushed it back to double digits on the foul line.  6’2″ Kaza Keene had 16 for the Ravens while touted 6’10” center Eddie Ekiyor continues to see his floor time steadily increase as the long, athletic front court man shot 6-7 from the floor, finishing with 15 points, 8 rebounds in 28 minutes.  6’7″ Connor Gilmore led Mac with 23 points and 5 rebounds.

Ottawa (11-1, 5-0) 90, Brock (9-3, 4-2) 63… In a meeting of reigning All-Canadians, 6’3″ Caleb Agada dominated with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals as the Gee-Gees held leads as large as 30 in a comfortable win at home over the Badgers.  Agada had 27 of his 28 in the first 3 quarters, leading a 14-3 run to end the first half as Ottawa led 44-27 at the break.  Later, a 9-2 Gee-Gees run pushed the lead to 20 as Agada had a pair of conventional “and 1’s” during a 12 point third quarter that locked the game away.  6’2″ Adam Presutti culminated a blistering weekend from beyond the arc for Ottawa with a second consecutive 4-5 effort from downtown (8-10 from 3 for the weekend) and finished with 16 points and 5 boards.  5’11” Tyler Brown had 5 early points and finished with 12 to lead Brock which got just 9 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes from 6’5″ All-Canadian Dani Elgadi, with 7 of his points coming after halftime.  6’9″ Jean Pierre-Charles added 17 points and 7 rebounds for uOttawa.
