More from UQAM’s win over Concordia

In one of the more intense and high energy games of the RSEQ season, 6’0″ Charles Miller followed up a missed three point attempt by teammate Chris Doumpa, making no mistake on a 15 foot jumper with just 0.6 seconds to lift the Citadins to an important win.  Stingers did have one play remaining but 6’5″ Michael Fosu‘s three-point attempt after a time-out was blocked by imposing 6’11” Yassin Debache and UQAM left the BeeHive with a big victory.  The game featured 10 ties and 8 lead changes and saw Citadins grab leads as large as 9 with just under 3 minutes to play in the third.  But a late Concordia run tied it by the end of that quarter and later in the final minute, Fosu, who led the Stingers with 16 points, was fouled on a controversial call taking a hook shot, knocking down both free throws to give Concordia a 1 point lead.  After Debache knocked down a pair of clutch free-bees, Concordia’s 6’4″ wing Ken Beaulieu made an athletic drive from the right wing, getting fouled at the rim.  Beaulieu made no mistake on his pair of free throws with 23 seconds remaining, allowing Concordia to retake a 1 point lead and set up the final UQAM possession, holding for the final shot which Doumpa missed but Miller retrieved the rebound and scored, sending the UQAM faithful into a frenzy.  These teams meet one more time this season.
