Towson are now 3-0 on their tour of Canada after Tigers used another second-half run to pull away for a 70-51 win over Laval in Ste. Foy. Trailing by just 3 at the half behind an 8-point, 5-rebound first half effort from 6’11” Marc Andre-Fortin, Rouge et Or appeared to have an opportunity for the win. However, Laval could only muster 8-28 shooting after halftime and just 20 points as Towson shot 47% in the final 2 quarters.
Fortin led the way for Rouge et Or with 14 points and 9 boards while point guard Yuann Folquet added 9 points. Laval, which shot just 2 for 16 from downtown, played without several regulars including 6’5″ Alexandre Leclerc, 6’1″ Vladimir Thomas, 6’4″ Alain Bernard and 6’7″ Joel Muamba.
Slick 6’5″ wing Jordan McNeil led all scorers with 16 points for Towson, which completes their tour of Canada with a game tomorrow night at McGill.
