Bearcats break to early lead to defeat U of T

6’3″ junior J.C. Snow, a transfer from Bucknell, had 23 points on 9-12 shooting including 3-5 3’s as Binghamton won their second consecutive game on the weekend with a 74-61 victory over U of T Varsity Blues.  6’3″ Reilly Reid had 19 points on 4-16 shooting for the Blues while 6’3″ pg Sage Usher added 13 and steady 6’8″ forward Daniel Johansson added 10.

Except for a six minute stretch in the second quarter when Binghamton got some easy run-outs off perimeter shot misses, the Blues competed, getting to within 9 late in the second half but keeping it around 12-14 for most of the game.  Binghamton deployed a zone defense for about 80% of the game and, while Toronto got a series of decent looks, shots simply did not fall (2-8 threes in the first half) and Bobcats took advantage of three consecutive second-quarter Toronto turnovers to establish the early lead.

The game featured the Blues debut of 6’1″ McGill transfer Jawara Pedican (8 points in 20 minutes) who looked good making a couple of later second half threes when the game was in hand for Binghamton and 6’1″ Evan Shadkami who did not score in 12 minutes of time.

Toronto meets Notre Dame College, an NCAA Division II program from Ohio next weekend at the Goldring Center.
