Fresh off their first win of their tour of Canada, Binghamton Bearcats close their four-game set this afternoon with a match against U of T Varsity Blues at Kerr Hall. Bearcats dominated from start to finish yesterday afternoon against an under-manned Ryerson Rams team playing without projected starters 6’4″ Ammanuel Diressa and 6’8″ Adam Voll, both of who were scheduled to return after being vital cogs in last season’s Final 8 championship game team for the Rams. As well, no sign yet of 5’9″ Jordan Henry who committed to Ryerson earlier this summer prior to his strong performance at the FIBA World U-19 championship in Egypt last month.
The Blues return much of last season’s OUA quarter-finalist club with the noted exception of 6’5″ Devin Johnson. Varsity fans will likely see the Toronto debuts of 6’1″ McGill transfer Jawara Pedican (Vaughan S.S.) and 6’1″ freshman Evan Shadkami (Central Tech). Game time is Noon ET at Ryerson’s Kerr Hall.
In St. Catharines, Brock Badgers play their second game vs. NCAA teams this summer hosting Jacksonville Dolphins while Alberta tries to split their two-game set with Montana State in Calgary. Golden Bears had an encouraging second-half on Friday in their loss to the Bobcats, coming to within 6 late before succumbing.
