Fouls, cold 3 point shooting hurts Badgers in loss to Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado 81, Brock 74… 6’7″ Dani Elgadi had 22 points and 7 rebounds while battling foul trouble and 5’11” point guard Tyler Brown added 18 including 2-2 from 3 but the Badgers could not overcome a 5-23 effort from downtown and a 31-17 foul count in a loss to the Bears, an NCAA D1 team from the Big Sky conference.  Jordan Davis led all scorers with 31 points including 10-14 from the free throw line for Northern Colorado.

Brock got the game to within three late in the second half when Brown, who continues to mature as a decision maker and finisher as a high-end point guard, had a steal and bucket but Northern Colorado held off late charges for the win.

Brock once again got a solid effort from 6’1″ Michael Asemota, who had 12 points and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes and the junior college transfer who had an uneven start to his Brock career last season has improved dramatically for the Badgers now 2-3 vs. NCAA Division 1 teams this summer.

Brock completes their tour of U.S. Virgin Islands on Sunday and Monday with back-to-back games against James Madison Dukes (NCAA Division 1/Colonial Athletic Conference; same conference as Towson).  JMU meets Carleton tomorrow in the Ravens final game on the pretty Caribbean island.
